Here are some useful links to help you explore options in education, employment and training after Year 11 (post-16):

What are the choices?
Post-16, students can choose to:

  • study A Levels at a school Sixth Form or Sixth Form College (SFC)
  • study for a Vocational qualification (e.g. BTEC, NVQs, City and Guilds, Diplomas) at a Sixth Form College/ Further Education (FE) College
  • study T-Levels at an FE college or SFC where these are offered
  • apply for an apprenticeship
  • apply for a traineeship
  • apply for an internship
  • work part-time or volunteer (20 hours or more per week) alongside education or training (part-time) until the age of 18 years

Year 11:  It’s time to begin booking your Sixth Form and College Open Events for 2024!
A list of upcoming Open Events in 2024 at a range of sixth forms and colleges in our region will be published here and updated when events are released.
These events are aimed at Year 11 students (and any 2024 Year 11 leavers who still need to decide on their post-16 destination) and their parents and carers.
