This year the students will be visiting Italy, Spain, Belgium, France and Iceland. In KS3 all students get the opportunity to do field trips and visit towns such as Bury St. Edmunds and Cambridge and Walton-on-the-Naze as part of the curriculum.
This years trips so far have included a careers fair and history trip to the Battlefields with theatre trips, sporting events and European residentials already in the pipeline.
As a school our pupils went on over 20 Educational Visits last academic year.
- In November 2023, the DT department took a group of students to Silverstone to support their F1 in Schools project to help understand car design and aerodynamics.
- In December 2023, the English department took a group of Year 7’s to Anglo Saxon Village to experience and understand history and cultural heritage.
- Year 7s visit Thorpe Woodlands. This is a residential where they stay for 2 nights and experience various outdoor activities.
- We run Duke of Edinburgh Awards Bronze & Silver for Years 9 & 10 respectively.
Our students went on multiple trips abroad to countries such as Austria, Belgium, France and China. They attended day trips that included museums, theatre shows, Fieldwork in Cambridge and sporting events such as Wimbledon Tennis, Women’s FA cup final and an England Netball Match.
We also took Year 7 to Year 10 students out on reward trips to theme parks and the cinema.
On top of all that, there were various local area visits including visits to West Suffolk College for different experiences and field work around the town centre, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and in school drama workshops.
